In Celebration of R.W. Fassbinder’s 80th Anniversary (1945–2025)
In collaboration with Sicilia Queer Filmfest
A stylized biopic about the intense and turbulent life of Rainer Werner Fassbinder, one of the most influential and unconventional figures of New German Cinema. The film traces his journey from early theater works to his premature death, showcasing his creative genius, self-destructive excesses, and troubled relationships with collaborators and lovers.
With an episodic narrative, the film highlights the contrasts of a man who lived on the edge. Using a deliberately theatrical style with artificial sets and expressionist lighting, it serves as a provocative homage, celebrating and questioning the legacy of this controversial and brilliant artist.
